Helping Your Patients Bridge the Gap to Success

Make It Fun Health focuses on the behavior change needed to help individuals successfully adopt—and actually sustain—a healthy lifestyle. While we work directly with individuals, we also serve as resource and referral partner for health professionals who want to see their patients thrive. They might have value-based practices but not enough time to provide intensive habit coaching. We are happy to collaborate informally to support your patients’ goals and provide resources for you to better assist them.

We are currently running a small 3-month beta program with 30 participants as we transition from 1-on-1 coaching to a group-based format that supports participants for one year.

Why Us

Make It Fun Health focuses on the behavior change needed to help people adopt—and actually keep—a healthy lifestyle. You provide the clinical plan; we provide the support to make it stick.

We created Make It Fun Health because we grew tired of watching family members and friends struggle - and sometimes lose their battle - with conditions that are often preventable and highly responsive to lifestyle changes. Most people know they should eat better, but they expect the journey to be miserable and unsustainable—and they are usually right. We designed this program to change that.

How We Support You and Your Team

We help your patients actually follow your advice.

  • Knowledge vs. Behavior: Knowledge alone does not create behavior change. We focus on the how and why—helping people create, keep, and enjoy healthy habits.

  • A "Fun" Foundation: Sustainability requires enjoyment. So we tell people we have only two rules. Eat more food and make it fun. Being hungry is certainly no fun. We tell people they can eat as much and still meet their goals as they want as long as they eat the right food and control the calorie density.

  • Support for Your Team: We take care of the habit-building, kitchen skills, and accountability. This frees you up to focus on the expert care you provide best.

Approach & Credibility
This program is led by a certified personal trainer with specializations in nutrition, weight loss, and behavior change. His training includes graduate-level research at the University of Colorado focused on long-term behavior adherence. He is also a non-physician member of Physicians for Nutrition, an international organization that encourages evidence-based nutrition in health care to help prevent diet-related diseases and improve patient outcomes. Added team will primarily be registered dietitians and health coaches well versed in behavior change and evidence-based nutrition.

Supporting Value-Based Care
Many health organizations and providers are moving toward Value-Based Care models and can now profit when their patients get better. We are uniquely positioned to help you hit those targets:

  • Better Outcomes: By improving patient adherence, we help move the needle on the metrics you are measured on.

  • Collaborative Success: When your patients reduce their A1c, lower their blood pressure, and manage their weight, your practice or organization thrives.

  • Patient Resources: We'd be pleased to provide you with short guides from nutrition-related physicians organizations your office can give patients and clients about how better eating patterns may improve their health in addition to prescription forms that recommend lifestyle changes. You'll find our contact information at the bottom of this page.

Clinical Foundation
Our approach is grounded in peer-reviewed research on whole-food, plant-based nutrition, including:

  • The BROAD Study weight loss without tracking or limiting portions by focusing on quality - not quantity

  • The Lifestyle Heart Trial (Ornish) demonstrating regression of coronary artery disease

  • Research by Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn on long-term dietary adherence and cardiovascular outcomes

  • Clinical studies showing improved glycemic control with plant-based dietary patterns

Real-World Wins
In our 1-on-1 coaching, we’ve seen people achieve life-changing results:

  • Healthier Blood Sugar: From diabetic ranges to healthy, non-diabetic levels.

  • Lower Cholesterol: Significant drops in cholesterol that allowed doctors to stop their need for statins.

  • Better Blood Pressure: Real, measurable improvements in heart health and hypertension.

  • Easier Weight Management: Reaching a healthy weight naturally, without the burden of counting every calorie or tracking every bite.

  • Quality of Life: Beyond lab results, many participants report less joint pain, a large boost in energy, and the ability to return doing what they love, instead of being sidelined by their health.

How to Connect and Refer

If you have a patient who is struggling with weight issues or chronic conditions who may benefit from a healthier lifestyle, you might consider offering them a "lifestyle prescription" that makes it feel as important as medication. We'd be happy to provide you with a prescription forms and other resources.
