Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to exercise?

Nope. You're not allowed to - unless it's fun.

Our program only has two rules. Eat more food and make it fun! But we're considering a third. Don't say the E word.

Seriously, when it comes to weight loss and chronic disease, nothing beats what you put on your plate. Get the food part right, and the weight will follow, along with some serious improvements to your health.

The right food will also help you drop pounds and give you more energy. You'll feel so much better, you'll probably want to start moving more. When that happens, we’ll help you find ways to move that don't feel like a chore. No treadmills allowed - unless you’re into that sort of thing.

What will we eat?

Mostly rabbit food and birdseed. We're kidding. We eat plants. Lots of them. Think vibrant fruits, crunchy veggies, filling potatoes, hearty whole grains, legumes, nuts, seeds, and lots of herbs and spices.

Science - and our waistlines - tells us that a whole-food, plant-based lifestyle is the gold standard for weight loss and long-term health. But here’s the fun part: It’s not a diet. There’s no tiny portions or "fake" food here. We’ll show you how to retrain your taste buds so you don’t just tolerate healthy food—you actually want it.

Do I have to cook to do the program?

Nope. If you still live at home and your mom makes all your meals, that’s a massive bonus. If your spouse is the household chef, even better! And if it’s raining money at your house and you have a personal chef to handle your grub, please let us know - we’re currently up for adoption.

You can even have healthy, plant-based meals delivered right to your door; we can make a recommendation for that.

However, you - or someone in your circle - should still join our Cooking Jams. Even if you aren't the primary chef, you’ll want to know the basics just in case your kitchen staff goes on strike! You can even go 100% raw if you want to avoid the stove entirely, but most people like a warm meal now and then. We’ll show you how to make that happen and make it fun.

What if my body is different and eating more plants doesn't work for me?

Unless you’re from another planet, your body is designed to run on premium fuel.

We’ve never met anyone who didn’t feel better by eating more real, whole plants. It’s not like some people’s arteries are cleared by kale while others require a steady stream of candy bars. Biology doesn't work that way!

Still, you might not feel like a superhero on day one. If you’ve been eating a typical diet, your body might go through a little "junk food breakup." Your taste buds need a makeover, and your gut needs some time to adjust to the food it was meant to eat all along.

We’ll guide you through the transition. Once it's over, you won’t just be healthier—you’ll look and feel like a whole new person.

Why do we have to apply to do the program?

Because we’re big, mean, Scrooges. Obviously.

Okay, the real reason is that we can't help someone who wants to keep living the way they always have. So we try to only work with people who are ready for a permanent lifestyle upgrade.

Why can't I do the program more than once?

Think of it as a "one-and-done" transformation. When you know there are no "do-overs," you bring your A-game. We want to make sure you get the results you came for, and that requires a "burn the ships" level of commitment.

While we’re all about the "fun," we’re also big on accountability. You aren’t just showing up for yourself; you’re showing up for the tribe too.

In one way, this program is like the military. Uncle Sam takes a civilian and cuts their hair, changes their clothes, doesn't let them get enough sleep, makes them knock out gazillions of push-ups, and yells at them constantly. It’s a total shock. That recruit will miss their mama, their friends, and their bed. But by the time they leave boot camp, they’ve changed from the inside out. They don’t just look like a Soldier, Sailor, Airman, or a Marine—they think like one.

Make It Fun Health works a bit the same way. At first, you’ll miss the neon-colored cereals and the salty snacks in the crinkly bags. You'll miss all the added sugar and fat. You'll have food withdrawals. The new food might initially seem bland and unexciting. But soon your stomach adjusts, your taste buds change, and your energy skyrockets. You lose weight without even trying, and your health improves. You still face food challenges, but you overcome them. Not because you have more willpower. Because you're a different person. You think different. You look different. You've changed from the inside out.

When are the group online sessions and movie nights?

Our live sessions - otherwise known as brain jams and cooking jams - happen on weeknights at 8:00 PM ET / 5:00 PM PT. Groups meet on either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday schedules.

If that’s past your bedtime or you just can’t make it live, that's no problem. You’ll have access to the recordings afterwards.

For our Screen Jams / Movie Nights, you get the best seat in the house - your own couch! We send you a link, and you watch on your own schedule.

Fair Warning: We’re big on momentum here. To keep the energy high and your results coming, we ask you to stay current. If you skip sessions or fall weeks behind, we’ll probably have to part ways. This is a one-and-done opportunity, so give it your all! We want you to cross that finish line, not just watch from the sidelines.

Are chronic diseases always preventable and reversible?

No. But here is the exciting part: Clinical studies consistently show that about 80% of the time, chronic diseases are preventable and reversible. While we can't promise 100%, an 80% chance of taking back your health is a total game-changer.

Think of it this way: If you had an 80% chance of winning the lottery every time you sat down to dinner, you’d probably start playing, right? We’re here to help you hit that health jackpot.

What if I can't eat gluten or have food allergies?

No problem. Most whole plant foods don't contain gluten, so you still have plenty of tasty options. The same goes for those with food allergies.

Are there other benefits to eating this way aside from losing weight and preventing and reversing chronic diseases?

How much time do you have? Because the "side effects" of plants are basically a wish list for a better life. You have more energy and no longer feel bloated or stuffed after dinner. You sleep better, wake up refreshed, and notice your skin starts glowing. You stop catching every cold that makes the rounds, and your aches and pains start to vanish.

It gets better: Women report easier and shorter monthly cycles, and for men, eating this way clears the "plumbing"—which is good for both your heart health and love life. You’ll even recover faster from injuries. Oh, and your bank account will thank you because plants are way cheaper than processed junk.

We could go on all day. But we'd rather you experience it for yourself!

How will we get our protein?

Ah, the "P-word." Have you ever seen an elephant, gorilla, or rhino? They only eat plants yet are many times stronger than humans. Here’s the big secret: Plants have all the protein your body needs. If you’re eating enough calories from real, whole plant foods, you get enough protein.

Unfortunately, our society is obsessed with protein. Most people today get too much, which can cause kidney issues and cancer.

So, stop worrying about the P-word and start focusing on the F-word: Fun!

And okay, maybe Fiber, too... but we’ll save that for another day.
